How to look after your breast form
Looking after your silicone breast form will ensure the longevity of your prosthesis. Silicone has a life of around three years if looked after.
When handling your breast form use the pads of your fingers, ensuring that you are conscious of rings and nails.
You can clean with a mild soap or sensitive shower gel and then rinse and towel dry.
It is okay to occasionally swim, use the sauna, steam room or hot tub in your breast prosthesis, unless an adapt air or a contact then it is not okay to do so.
If you are going to be swimming regularly then it is best to use an aqua wave form or even a softi.
You can leave your breast form in your bra and drape it over the box overnight or you may just want to pop it in the box - this just helps maintain its shape.
If you fly you may notice that air bubbles form in the silicone, don't worry! These will disappear within a few days.
