Bora's Story

My surgeon was allocated to me as part of my breast cancer treatment through the NHS. I didn't choose them, but I'm grateful for the care I received.

Recovery had its challenges, but having the right supplies and understanding proper wound care made a significant difference to my healing process.

The combination of practical items like compression bras and simple comfort aids like a neck pillow helped more than I expected. These small things added up to make recovery much more manageable.

What Helped More Than Expected

Two different compression bras, neck pillow, silicone scar sheets, and hydrocolloid dressings. Having multiple compression options meant I could stay comfortable while one was being washed. The silicone sheets and dressings were essential for proper wound care.

What I Wish I'd Known Beforehand

Wound care and gentle stretching exercise. Understanding proper wound care from the start would have helped me feel more confident. Starting gentle stretching exercises early (as approved by your surgeon) can help maintain mobility.
