Silicone patches for scars

Scars are part of the natural healing process however, the right scar therapy can help avoid discolouration, hardening or thickening.

So what is silicone?

▫️ Silicones are a synthetic material made from a large number of repeating units of siloxane bonded together with carbon and/or hydrogen.

▫️Medical grade silicones are used for silicone scar treatments products. Silicone in either pad or gel form is easy to administer, and can be applied on irregular skin or scar surfaces, after a minimum of 3 weeks post surgery.

▫️The durability and biocompatibility of medical grade silicone makes it ideal for scar treatment products.

Silicone has been used for the treatment of scars for 30 years!

How does it work?

▫️The Silicone patches help keep the surgery site stabilised and increases the hydration of the stratum corneum, which means it results in softer flatter scar.

▫️Silicone patches also allows the skin to "breathe"

▫️Silicone also reduces itching and discomfort associated with scars

▫️Silicone patches can be used up to two years post surgery!
